..the burning sensation from your hands after chopping a chilli? I wore disposable gloves but took them off after cutting up some chicken. I then picked up some veg peelings which were mixed with the chilli seeds I'd removed and now my hands are burning and itchy.

wash them and then use moisteriser?

I've washed them about 3 or 4 times since then. I'll try the moisturiser though.
do you have any lemon juice i seem to remember my mum washing her hands in lemon juice after chopping chilli, not sure if it was to get rid of the sting or the smell tho...

I do have some lemons. May make it sting moreso though :-(
Ha just wait until you eat the chilli then you will have something to worry about
Milk or a milky product (yoghurt etc) will cancel out the chilli burn, tigger !
just googled it and app wash your hand with olive oil it neutralis's the chilli, ah who knows give it a go.
after this you can write the web page on how to get rid of chilli burns! i feel for you x

I've already eaten my curry Knobbles.

Oh I so wish I had some yogurt right now Juggles.
Tiggs - have you got any:-

milk (fresh or made up from dried)
cheese
cream cheese
I know you've not got yoghurt.. but these others will do the trick as well !

Thanks Juggles, I will try pouring milk into my palm and holding it in if I can.
Haha.. tiggs... just wash your hands in milk, then rub your lips with same stuff... and have a wee drink of it too .... :)

Ice cream would have been ideal if I had some. Since I started my diet 3 weeks ago I don't posses any ice cream

The curry was fine to eat. The chilli was a mild one but the seeds that ended up in my hand have caused the burning sensation. Very odd as it was a mild chilli. Lol
Yog hurt is also good for thrush so I have been advised.

Jut as well you didnt go to the toilette afterwards and miswiped your fanoid -now that is what I call stinging !!!

O and if you pick yer nose or wipe your eyes -doesnt matter how much you wash your hands but I use finger chillies and they are mental good/bad !!!
