camomile tea
1 Answers
I have tried making camomile tea from the dried flowers of the camomile plant in my garden, but it doesn't taste at all like the camomile tea I get from the shops.
In fact, it has a really nasty taste, and horrid after taste.
I simply cut and dried the flowers, then put a small handful in a tea ball and poured hot water over them.
Does anyone know why this seems to have produced such a vile brew??
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thank you in advance

First of all make sure your your plant is Chamomile the Wikipedia website should help, secondly try drying only the tip of the flower with no stalk allowing at least two teaspoons per cup.
You could also try mixing in a little dried Fennel seed or some Anise seeds for a little depth of flavour.
