Trying to love tinned sardines??

My mum keeps bringing them tell her not to,i do like mackerel smoked,anyone one got any interesting recipes using tinned sardines!!!

try toasting a couple of slices of thick bread , then put sardines on one side and re-toast that side under grill for a few mins, it's very filling and very good for you.

or give them the cat

I had sardines on toast for lunch,I just heat them up and sprinkle them with black pepper. If you don't like them you could always ask your local cat rescue centre if they would like to have them for the cats in their care.

I used to love tinned sardines when I lived at home. But when I lived alone I opened a tin one day and looked at them and they looked gross and I couldn't face eating them. Twenty years down the line and I still couldn't eat them.

Give them to the cat. I have got two cats - one of which is about to be strangled - one more "wah" (I don't like the cat food in my bowl. I want treats instead) and I will go for him.

They are the cheapest you can get, even kippers cost more now. I don't even like them and I force myself to have a tiny tin between four meals ewwwww.
I use pilchards in curry, so you could use these in curry.
Or add a crushed garlic, some mayo and a little olive oil into these mash it with a fork add some black pepper. Might be alright like that.
Put in bread and butter with sliced cucumber. Give it a go! Then tell us what you think.
