Old French Cookbook

Many years ago I had an old book of French recipes, each of which was below a black and white or possibly sepia picture of a French scene. Each recipe was I believe connected to the accompanying photograph. I have no idea of the publisher or title, the only recipe that springs to mind is one for calves' brains in black butter. Despite being vegetarian I would love to have a copy of this book, any titles, authors, publishers names would help. I'm fairly sure the book I had was hardback and roughly A5 in size.
