Well you cook for me then, Stompee ...

... cos I can't be arsed to do it.

=0)

Puddi ...

... do you do other soups, apart from the Pear and Pepper? ... which sounds fab, by the way.
I make a butternut squash & sweet potato soup (with peppers & onions) - it's lush!! (K. Jnr loves it, too!)

JJ i am Not knocking you! we carn't see you, and hearing about you on hear i admire your fitness regime, it came as a bit of a shock about the diet thats all! You woulnd't want My cooking!i would get us a take-away {:D
Stompee ...

I know you're not.

And, as I've said before ... I don't get the hump if you are, cos I'm not a sulker.

But I know you're not.

Anyway, I don't have children to burn up my money (and, realistically, I'm never going to), so I spend my money on other things ... like eating out.

Although, to be honest, I think the bookies on North Street probably get to spend more of my money than I do.

Oh, and ... a take away would be fine.
I made potato and leek last night.carrot, lentil and coriander tonight...there is enough in the freezer for 5 more meals. Next I will make sweetcorn chowder which I've not made in ages. After cooking at work-I sure don't feel like doing a lot in the evening.....but I hate ready-made.

I make a wicked leek and potato soup. But it takes time. As a stand by I always keep some tins of Liddl's Scotch Broth. Sorry about this, some of you must think that I am trying to advertise Liddl's but this is certainly one of their products worth trying!!
Hiya Puddi

*J waves over tinterweb...*

I have just eaten a bowl of my home made leek and potato soup... nah..amend that, two (small) bowls lol.....

Very easy to make - gently saut in a little olive oil equal quantities of sliced leek and chopped potato, plus a sliced carrot and one small fresh finely chopped chilli, for about 5 minutes, then add stock or water & bouillion and a few bay leaves. Simmer until the potatoes are cooked, remove the bay leaves and whizz up most of the vegetables in a blender or food processor (it's nice to have a few chunks of veg left in). Return the mush to the saucepan, stir well, adding more water if necessary. Adjust the seasoning according to taste (I don't add any salt, because the bouillion has enough for me).

I made the soup last Sunday evening and brought it to work in a large tupperware box so that I can have a bowl (or two !) for lunch. My work colleagues keep coming into my office, asking what the gorgeous smell is !
I make a lovely warming "House" soup in my slow cooker. Mind you I do stray a bit from the recipe sometimes so it's probably not called a house soup anymore!
One of my best recipes is my sweet potato soup.

Friends always beg me to make this when they come to my house!

Tinned soup is so salty and tasteless!
Good one funny I haven't tried that before! I'll put it on my never ending list of things to try next!!!
I must admit to finding most tinned or packet soups salty and horrible, but Heinz tomato soup is still a favourite. Home made soup is much nicer, but somehow I never get round to making it. Lots of stews and casseroles, but not soup.
Lottie, we must have been seperated at birth - Heinz tomato is my absolute favourite! Mmmm.

I make my own homemade soups in the slow cooker and then freeze it in batches (takeaway cartons ironically) and take one to work each day. The ones I have at the moment are sweed, kidney beans, leek, carrot, garlic and onion. Usually I just chuck in a tin of chopped tomatoes and whatever else is ying around :-)
Potato soup with bacon and chives. Luvverly!
