A couple of restaurants that I've eaten out in lately have presented me with the tiniest portions imaginable.... (the food was lovely, there just wasn't very much of it lol)... in one famous *gastropub* near here, my mate had a huge portion of battered fish, with a raft of real chips and a bowl of mushy peas... whilst I got served up with 6 tiny stuffed ravioli in a home made tomato sauce... my bowl of this was the same size as my friend's mushy peas.... We each paid the same price too ! When I asked for a portion of garlic bread to fill me up, I got half a ciabatta roll - for 2.95 extra !!
In another "high quality" restaurant just before Christmas, my friend was served up with a fabby Christmas dinner - 4 large slices of turkey stuffed with sausage meat and wild mushroom on a huge plate filled with all the trimmings - roast potato, root mash, steamed veg and gravy etc.... whilst I got a small plate containing a roast pumpkin & spinach puff pastry tart (about 3" square) with a side salad and some basil and pimento dressing.... once again, they were the same price.
