As such, they are run by Muslims: that's why you don't often see pork curry in such restaurants. To experience Indian restaurants you need to go to places like Leicester, Southall, Wembley or Tooting where there's a significant Indian population. You'll find that a lot (but not all) of true Indian restaurants are wholly vegetarian.
It IS actually beef but they cant advertise it so thats why they write "Meat dishes".when you look at a menu you'll see that they put chicken or lamb as these are not sacred but resturaunters <sp> must take into consideration that the cow is not sacred to everybody. My inlaws are Indian+ have friends who own a very good resturaunt in Cardiff.
'Meat is usually Lamb or Goat to the best of my knowledge!! Being indian myself , they would never serve Beef, knowing the outrage/lawsuits that could be caused! Hindu's and Sikh's wouldn't eat Beef.
Having said that, when we were kids we did actually eat Pork. That was allowed but not Beef. It's only muslims who don't eat it and in 'proper' Indian Restaurants, everything on the menu varies anyway!
