Also if i wanted to make a big one at the beginning of the week so me, and whoever, can munch on it throughout the week. I've done that before with about 5 jars and used some extra water and cream to make it go that bit further but it still only lasted about 3 days

Try a local privately owned shop specialising in Asian food - I buy my basmati rice in sacks from them, and also green coriander, poppadoms etc from the local corner shop much much better quality than the supermarket and cheaper too - they are happy to negotiate on bulk purchases and often give me some really good tips. I was a bit shy about it at first but now its fun - dont know about buying curry paste in bulk I usually make my own it is very very easy - have a go some time when you have less to do - I got my first paste and masala recipe from the corner shop too !
