I need to set a jelly by teatime today. Can I bung it in the freezer after its cooled and if so, for how long?

a freezer will do just that.freeze it. put it in the fridge and try not to keep opening the door.maybe turn the temp down
Hi. You could melt the jelly cubes with half the quantity of boiling water, and top up the rest of the quantity with cold boiled water. Then pop it in fridge and it should be set by tea-time.
I put mine in pyrex jug with a couple of tablespoons of cold water.put in microwave on high 2 minutes. then make up to just under a pint with cold water.

i do the same as valerie. why do you use cold boiled water to top it up, schutz? why not cold water from the tap?
Hi Ethandron. For the same reason I use boiled water for making tea and coffee, and I never drink cold water straight from the tap.
fair enough, i thought maybe there was a culinary reason for it :)

I use ice cubes to make my jelly set almost instantly
