Also, my fella doesn't boil the kettle all the way because he's lazy waiting for it to boil and then click off, and you can tell the difference.
My brother is also crap, and literally waves the tea bag at the cup, just teasin, long enough for them to see eachother, and then chucks it in the bin and I get a **** weak cup of tea.
I make it myself now, or go without.
I've had many a compliment about my tea-making ability. I pour the water into the cup then dunk the teabag in it and squeeze it several times until the water turns dark brown, then remove the bag. I find leaving it in the cup to brew makes the tea taste bitter. Then I add about a tablespoon of milk.
This applies to ordinary teabags though. Some flavoured teas (eg Earl Grey and Rooibos) turn out OK by brewing for 5 minutes.
Bangkok, You and I have the same taste in tea. Strong and black with no sugar. Milk in tea is simply yuk. Also has to be in a bone china cup or bone china mug. Can't drink tea out of anything else. Oh, and you must drink it so it burns you. I like Morrisons Fair Trade tea best.
I also like strong green tea, but it must be brewed for ages to get the taste right.
