The drinks machine where I work has an option for dispensing hot water only.
Can anyone recommend what I can use this for, instead of the murky brown stuff pretending to be tea or coffee.
Main points are:-

1. Has to be easy to make - no mess, mixing etc.
2. Has to be healthy
3. Has to be non-fattening
4. Has to be readily available in usual shops
5. Can be drunk in large amounts.

Water?

More seriously green or fruit teas, you can get them in most supermarkets.

Slice up lemon before you got work, pop one in a mug and pour hot water over it.  It's good for you (lot's of vitamin C) and tastes really good, I drink loads of it.

I also drink lots of just plain hot water, a Chinese friend of mine said she drinks it a lot because it is good for your digestive system and keeps your skin clear, I don't know how true this is but I feel better for drinking so much.

Also you could try adding hot water to squash, herbal/ fruit tea/ infusions.

Do what I do, buy Typhoo tagged one-cup tea bags. Make tea, drink it black, no sugar. Matches all your points.

Bouillion is lovely too, it's a vegan stock drink.  Tastes kind of beefy, it's absolutely gorgeous, is low in cals' and can be eaten by everyone!!  Wheat free, gluten free, lactose free, etc.....

Options, Highlights.....
Keep a stock of OXO cubes, or a jar of Bovril in your drawer. It makes a nice beefy tasty change. Other than that a bottle of Robinsons Lemon Barley water, which is also nice diluted with hot/warm water.
Hi,Morrisons do a range of 10 calorie soups (usual flavours) which are very nice.  They are all vegetarian and you get 6 in a box for about 35p.  Bargain!

Mmmmm - yes of course Bangkok, hot Ribena - nothing quite like it.
Ian - I had the same problem at work. Now I have peppermint tea - it's really calming and soothing to have a work, and what's more is really healthy for you. good, in particular, for your digestive system. just leave tea bag in for 3 mins and take out. no mess, no milk required either!
