Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

This is crofter taking a break from Crimbo Decorating to welcome you to this third week in the reign of ‘Princess Di’ (aka grannydi), who bestowed treasures galore last week in the form of a multitude of points. She intends to try to be a bit tougher with her chosen links, but I think that she won’t be able to help herself. After decades of peering into (cake)holes [mouths?] and removing white objects [teeth?], can she really change “course” when doing the “Links”?

I have a local Pizza Parlour that offers a free Pizza to anyone aged 70 or over ~ provided they are accompanied one of their parents (to verify their age!). Princess Di (and her Mum) should get themselves down here asap! It never ceases to amaze me when I learn the background to each of our Linkers. What WILL we learn tomorrow? As for me, tomorrow brings Harry for another overnight stay. If all goes according to plan, I should have the Christmas Tree up and running. I wonder if it’s Harry-proof?

As usual, Princess Di should open the MM posting tomorrow at 8.45am and her four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember, with MM Links, early Hits bring Bonus Points. Also look out for the international version of this same game is called KM Links, which kicks off at a very early hour (which can be variable and outside of our control). But don’t worry, you can make your predictions of KM Links at any time ~ without penalty! Keeping record of all the scores awarded to each entrant to KM Links is everyone’s favourite, seekeerz, who hails all the way from Oz. She may well be sweltering under the Summer sun, whilst here in the UK we are in the midst of another Ice Age! I bet that it’s much colder for the Ont-ices in Canada!

These Link Games are open to one and all ~ and run for most of the weekend, so why not chance your arm at both Games?

Until tomorrow ~ “Happy Linking”!

:o)
Pauline has phoned and asked me to let you all know that she is now at home after her recent operation, but not quite up to coming on-line yet. She sends her love and wishes to thank you for all the kind messages of support posted in the past couple of weeks. (S)
Good evening crofter.
We have a similar offer here on pizzas, but you have to be over 70 and have your grandfather with you to qualify for the offer.
Thanks sarumite for that news on Pauline. I'm sure I speak for all of us on AB in wishing her a speedy recovery.
Good to hear that Pauline is home, good luck with the recovery, take a lot of rest and let everyone run round you.
Strix was wondering if I spent my time in the 'bun room' at Newcastle, the answer to that is no,I rarely went there. Spare time during the week was spent getting up to date with my studies and the weekends were spent mainly around South Shields with 'himself'. And before you ask we were very good! How boring!!
Were you up at Newcastle in the early 60's Strix? You certainly seem to know a lot about the place.
Get your 'little grey cells' into working order for tomorrow!
I second those comments about Pauline and look forward to reading her posts before very long.
Gosh it's cold here in Warwick. We've escaped the snow except for a few flurries, but I think the wind is coming straight from Siberia. Doesn't help the arthriric joints!
Your royal highness, yes I was there in the "early" sixties (only just - went there in '64 left in '71) a mixture, dwelling-wise, of Whitley Bay, North Shields, Jesmond and Heaton.

I, too, seldom went into either of the bun rooms in the evening (likewise work) but occasionally the "Cochrane Lounge" in the Union which, if you remember, was the one with panelled walls just to the left of the steps up into the building.

As to my "brain cells" - they have gone beyond grey, more like white or non-existent.
Strix, I hope you weren't one of those poor souls on which we trainee dentists were let loose.
I graduated in 65 so we overlapped by a year. Ethel Williams was my abode for 2 years then Jesmond and final 2 years in Gosforth in a flat owned by a relative - helps to have them around sometimes!
I don't even remember the Cochrane Lounge - so much for that then!
You were obviously a very well-behaved girl!!

No, I never availed myself of the Dental department but one of my friends did having broken a tooth playing rugger. A temporary crown was fitted but in a pint-of-beer drinking race the next day it was dislodged and he swallowed it. The professor/lecturer who had fitted it as a demonstration to his pupils was unamused and my friend was made to retrieve it upon "exit".
Good evening all from a very cold and snowy Kent - about 5 inches fell overnight, although that promised for today hasn't arrived yet!
Good news about Pauline, hopefully we'll hear from her soon.

This is what we could have done today:
