I'm cooking a ham for Christmas to go with the turkey. Any decent recipe suggestions to make it that bit more special?

Not for a baked ham, but for a large gammon I always use 2 litres of Sainsbury's Vintage Cider Medium Dry instead of the usual water, onion etc.  (No other cider will do!) The taste is out of this world - sort of alcoholic and appley!!

Over the years I have tried the designer cooks recipes with Coca Cola (disgusting!), and Ginger Beer (also disgusting), and last year I used Merrydown Cider as I couldn't remember the original stuff - a total disaster.

My mum used to stud the fat with cloves before cooking the ham.
jack daniels?  might work, i've had a steak marinated in it before and i once poured some in a lasagne i was making and it was rather nice!
Smear with thick honey and stick cloves in the ham after making a criss cross pattern, wrap in foil and bake.mmmmm.
Here's a beauty, simmer the ham in a mixture of coca cola, vintage cider, molases and cloves.  Then bake the beast with a little of the liquer in the tin, basting every now and then.  With 45 mins to go smear the ham with a mixture of dark cherry jam, kirsch and english mustard powder.  The flavour is rich and spicy, the meat dark, and the edges sweet and tangy, yum!
would you like to try some of my self saucing pork on the bone mmmmmmmmmmm creamy
