Best Musturd To Use On A Honey Roast Ham

I've been looking on lots of different recipes to do a honey musturd glaze for a christmas ham but he some say use English musturd and the others say djoin musturd. Is there a difference in taste?.

Which one is best to use?

yes big difference -Dijon mustard is mixed with wine Must and has a much nicer (in my opinion) taste than English mustard that has a 'bad egg' taste.

Dijon - a good brand like Maille, but English is fine...English is sharper.

A splash of honey or maple syrup goes well with the mustard......

Oh yes I would definitely recommend using maple syrup instead of honey. I pour it on streaky bacon for breakfast but then again I'm Canadian. lol!

To put it simply, if you just want mustard flavour, use Dijon. If you want a bit of heat as well, use English.

French mustard generally is much milder than English so it all comes down to personal taste. For me, English every time, and made fresh with mustard powder, not pre-mixed.

I like it for salads too, retro, a splash into a mustard or basalmic vinaigrette goes well

DTC have you tried glazing parsnips in maple syrup and roasting in the oven with butter..gorgeous

I often use either Dijon or a grainy mustard. Whatever i use, i always cover it in demerara sugar

I`d probably use wholegrain.

I'd go for half wholegrain and half Tracklements English.
