I have a Prestige kitchen tool/gadget in my kitchen and don't know what it's used for.It's6" long 3/4" wide with5 small holes at the enn and one bigger hole on the side which has a sharp edge .the 5 holes are not sharp.Could it be for some sort of veg prep?

It's for scraping zest.

yep, sounds like a zester with a wider bit for paring citrus peel.
I use mine to scrape orange peel....or scrape chocolate shreds onto ice cream....
...and the larger hole for scraping scores along a cucumber if you are trying to impress your guests.
