Can someone please tell me why Rhubarb is so expensive. Today on the local market it was £1.89 per pound, that makes making a rhubarb crumble awful expensive.

Have a look in Iceland or FarmFoods or in your local Supermarket and see how much Frozen Rhubarb costs. You can buy it cheaper than £1.89
grow it in a big tub easy peasy !!!!
It's about 1.50 at Farmfoods for about a 1kg bag! Well, that's what I paid for a bag of apple slices in the same range.

Really is cheaper to buy frozen & no preperation! x
out of season....any available now has been forced under speciality conditions = labour & growing costs
