My mums booked a table at a pub for fathers day. It would be rude if he paid but she wants me to because he's my father! Normally we go out with my brother who pays but he's on holiday.

Knowing her she will pay, but with money from my savings account which she has access to. By the way, I know this is the wrong section but she will have to give me that savings account which is in my name, when i'm 18 wouldn't she? if it was 16, i'd have it by now.

If she has booked it then she should pay.

Saying you should pay just because he is your dad isn't really fair on you.

tell her youve already got him a gift.

The account, is it all in your name? can you withdraw money?
Question Author
Yeah we all live together. I hope she was only joking but she sounded serious. She'll probably make me pay from my savings then blame me for not having a job for the reason why I have to use them.

red, I have two, one that she has access to until i'm 18 i think, and a cashbuilder account with barely enough in it to cover a meal out, which i can but never have withdrawn money out of.
Isn't that theft?
Let your mum pay as said before she booked it and you can tell her you have already got him a gift?
Question Author
she has access to it at will, for all I know, she takes money out and spends t on herself, but there's a book i think, will that have records of all transactions, in and out?

So will I get this when i'm 18? She's threatened not to give it to me if i don't behave.
i think you should make him a meal with the ingrediants you listed yesterday

it would be far more personal

fluff, he has to have at least one roast dinner a week, including sunday.
I really feel for you mollykins because i went through something similar when i was younger. Just tell your mum you've got him a gift already and you are "point blank!" not paying.
speak to the bank. ask them, if the account is in your name only, to give you the details.

though who pays the money into it if you havent got details?
Question Author
jack, according to some people on here, I have an easy life and should stop complaining!
You mother is out of order booking a meal and insisting her young daughter pays out of her savings
Is it a post office savings account Molly?

I have one of these, and money was put in it from when I was younger, and I could not have access to it till I was 18.

I used £1000 of it to buy my first car a few years ago, and there is a book to fill in to request money is taken out?
Question Author
Red, before when i've had christmas or birthday money, my mum has paid it in. But since I was 15, I've not put any more in and started a cashbuilder account.
so what have you got your dad for fathers day?
Question Author
wiggal its with nationwide. And for some reaosn they made me get this cashbuilder account with nationwide aswell. i thought it would be better to have two different banks, then you can transfer to which ever has the best rate.
