Can you still make like proper gravy though, by making a roue (however it's spelt) with flour and stock, then adding more and more stock or vegetable water, so it has the consistency of gravy?
I use vegetable stock often and sometimes thicken it with some milk to pour over veg.Its tasty-but then i would think that as I rarely eat meat. Its way better tasting than a beef gravy in my opinion.
That's how dad make's his 'gravy' which tastes horrible and meaty.
Make a roux with flour, gravy granules and a tiny bit of the water the vegies were boiled in, add a bit of gravy browning and mix well, then keep slowly adding the veggie water
Have you tried Bisto?
Some of them dont have the meety flavour go to your local super market and check it out. Theres all different types and I am near sure bisto does a vegetarian gravy in it!
