can you cook with corked wine? or would this be just so bad as the wine is off? opened a special bottle given to me, a 1994 wine and it was so disappointing.

No. It would taint the food.
I agree. You should only cook with wine that you would drink.

If you were disappointed because it was corked then you shouldn't cook with it. There's many a wine that has been recommended to me and it was a disappointment when I tasted it......though perfectly drinkable by someone it suited.
Definitely not - have yopu had it a long time - of not, walk it back to the retailer...many of them will replace it......
Reduce it, and use it as a marinade. The 'taint' will virtualy disappear with the reduction process.

thanks naz, will give it a go then. any ideas what i use the marinade for?
sorry i disagree with naz, it probably won't make you ill but I wouldn't cook with it in any way shape or form.

Apparently if you pour the wine into a bowl lined with cling film it will remove the TCA
I disagree ... sorry.
I still don,t think you should cook with it either,I had very bad stomach ache just by tasting a few drops once when a bottle was corked
