would 45 minutes hard boiling be enough to cook brussel sprouts?

They're lovely with lardons and chestnuts.
well i havent got any lardons (have ot admit to googling that one, no idea what the were!) or chestnuts, but they'll be just as good fried on their own, right?
Yep, or just boiled and drained and then add lemon juice, olive oil and a bit of salt.
Steam for 8 to 10 mins. Any leftover? Delicious cooked with onions, garlic and some fresh tomato sauce (as for pasta) - sprouts Provencale.

leftover sprouts, leftover bits of cheese, leftover dregs of cream. mix together, grate some cheese over the top and bake - sprout gratin. really tasty.
