Oh bednobs, I tried it once and never again!! I made a bologneise with it!! I even preferred the bologneise I made with Quorn and that was dire. Even the look of turkey mince turns me off now. Sorry, not being helpful at all!!
Redhelen I put so many herbs and such a lot of garlic and onions, etc. into my bologneise and I still could taste it!! Doesn't say much for the taste if you have to mask it!!! ;o)
finely chop medium onion, and two cloves of garlic add to turkey mince and mix well add tablespoon of tomato puree salt and pepper and half a teaspoon of herbes de provence or bouquet garni add an egg and mix really well line a loaf tin with smoked streaky bacon and fill with the turky mixture put more bacon on top and cover with foil roast slowly for approx 1 hr 40 mins medium oven nice with chopped red/green pepper and chopped chili too
No not that near Murraymints - about 15 miles away, nearer the North Norfolk coast. I come from London originally, but have been up here for 31 years now. I know where you mean though.
Well we are about 25 miles or so from Norwich now. Visit quite frequently though. Was there on Saturday night. Love Norwich - best city in the UK in my opinion. (Sorry bednobs for chatting on your thread).
There are lots of recipes for turkey mince on the BBC Good Food website. They are mostly meatball recipes with different flavourings, e.g thai, mediterranean etc.
I have to say I'm with the others though, turkey mince is not a favourite of mine, dry and consequently tasteless.
Pasta, I tried it because we have to cut down on red meat (of which pork is one!!) I like pork mince too. However, I would rather turn vegetarian than ever have to eat turkey mince again. I use beef/pork mince but not as often as I used too.
Lottie...I've developed a real love for Quorn mince recently-I used to hate it. But I find if I really season it well,I now prefer it over 'real' mince.
