Forgive me for being stupid, but my recipe said 300 gr. of White Chocolate and I have bought Silver Spoon White Chocolate 'flavour' for covering.
Is this the best white chocolate I can buy or can anyone recommend another brand which is classed as "white chocolate"
Im not sure if you're asking about the chocolate to be used or about theSilver Spoon topping.
I've used supermarket "basic" white and dark chocolate many times - even taken cheesecakes to parties (chilled) - and they've been devoured.
If you're adding vanilla/lemon rind/fruit/liqueur etc to the mix I think thats what tickles the taste buds
I think that the silver spoon would be better in things like fudge cakes, or an icing type topping for a cake. Sainsburys do a reasonable bar of white chocolate, I assume the other supermarkets will do their own as well.
Do you realise that there is no such thing as 'white chocolate'? To be classed as chocolate it must have a certain % of cocoa solids in it, 'white chocolate' has 0%. On that basis I would imagine the Silver Spoon stuff would be fine.
