Frozen Eggs

Last week some of our hens eggs got left out in the barn and were frozen solid though the shells did not crack. Can I still use them now they are defrosted? would it be better using them for cooking? And if you can use them after freezing why do more people not freeze their excess eggs -or do you?

Yes you can freeze eggs but not in their shells. I've frozen cracked eggs before by cracking them into an ice cube tray

They can be kept frozen for a year and they defrost really quickly.
It is a handy tip if you ever acquire cheap eggs or have a glut

Thankyou for your replies - despite the weather we have hens popping eggs out all over so I guess the frozen ones will end up in a nice quiche this afternoon.
