Looking for a turkey crown I went to the reviews which were interesting......

The Waitrose crown was described by The Times as.....wet, flabby and pathetic looking.....which was just how I described my ex when he left me for the girl from the pea canning factory... ;-)

Inside Mr Murdoch's paywall - but the relevant bit says :

Waitrose ★★★☆☆
Crown wrapped with bacon, bay leaves, stuffed with sausage and chestnut, £50. Available in store from Thursday
This was the only crown we tested. It was a bit wet, flabby and pathetic-looking before cooking, but once you’ve added the sticky sauce for the final 20 minutes, it crisps up nicely. The turkey flavour was good, but the sauce made it overwhelmingly sweet. I’d give it a miss next time.
If I had to liken my ex to anything it would be a big squid - slimy and spineless.
I only have two significant ex's one suffered from PTSD which was pretty terrifying for us both and the other was a closet homosexual.

I could never bring myself to ridicule either.
You wouldn't be referring to Bobjugs by any chance, NoM?
I didn't realise you were around in those days, JD.

The day will come, NoM.....when you and your ex can be friends and laugh about your thoughts on each other.....as I do with mine....and I laugh with the girl from the pea canning factory......
He said lovely things about me at his Ma's funeral........just a little too late..... the drip!........:-)
I'm friends with my other ex (Alfie's dad) and always will be, but I wouldn't spit on the other one if he was on fire.
I was around under a different name. Someone upset me so I flounced and had to come back under another name.
Righty-ho. Was it a decent flounce? Nothing half-soaked I hope.
It's just that I was getting grief off a certain mod who is still active.
I am surprised that one or two have been awarded Mod status, and allowed to retain it for so long.

I can understand that, Nom of course.......I'm lucky in that for all the upset at the time all exes on every side are now friends and still get together as we are doing this year....I'm happy with that because I hate ill feeling....

And after much research I think I'll be happy with the Aldi turkey crown..... :-)
After I left an ex I remarked on the fact I was losing weight to which a good friend responded I'd already managed to lose 13 Stones of useless skin and fat.

A sort of extreme circumcision, BM?..... ;-)
Mmmm.... liking that!

Crikey - is everyone on this site separated or divorced?
Did you meet and marry your first love, Diddly?
Mrs av sez that she is getting the crown on Sunday. Hope the Tesco version isn't the same as the The Times description of Waitrose's.
I wouldn't dare get divorced, your penis shrinks by at least a couple of inches when you get divorced ... apparently!
