Whats For Dinner Tonight?

Well I am doing my annual Burns night dinner for friends tonight so on the menu is-

Starter - Mini Scots fry
Main - Haggis neeps and tatties
Pudding - Cranachan cheesecake
Scottish cheese and oatcakes
Lots of Scots Whisky and Gin

What do you have planned?

Roast Barbary Duck breast, with Delia's Sour Cherry Sauce, served with lashings of roast potatoes, carrots, red peppers, red onions and courgettes. The veg will be roasted with olive oil, and some rosemary, and perhaps some garlic.

A cheeky little Merlot, £2:99, from Lidl.

Had the devil of a job to get the Bing cherries...ended up with something similar from Sainsburys.

It's either 4 pepper spatchcocked Poisson, or I have some rosé veal meat balls from M&S that I could do in a creamy lemon sauce with loads of parmesan on top. Creamed spinach and pan fried tomatoes on the side.

Rasher of bacon and fried egg served on fried bread/brioche with crumbled black pud?
(sounds better than Sturgeon or Ruth lol)

Burgers, beans n chips tonight followed by cherry crumble and custard.

Curry on Saturday night. One Madras and one light tikka masala for me. Naan bread. Glass or two of Chardonnay for me.

Baked potato, broccoli and sprouts, baked sweet potato.
Grated cheese for my vegetarian hubby, tinned red salmon for me.
Nice little bottle of prosecco for me, beer for hubby :)
