Is anyone eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the new xbox 720 today? This could almost be in the 'News' section making a much needed diversion from gay marriage debates and broken britian.

"Not backwards compatible, licence needed for second hand purchases or if you've borrowed a friends copy"
Have Sony announced that they won't be doing those things?
"stays in standby listening to you in case you tell it you want it to turn on"
I heard some time back that 'instant on' was going to be a big feature of this gen. Theres no real difference between being sat in standby mode waiting for someone to say 'Xbox on' or to press the power button.
I can't see how they can get to market at a price point rivalling Sony though. Similar specced console + expensive Kinect camera as standard.
Suggests easily £100 more to me although Sony have said that they will not price the PS4 so that it loses money this time round. If MS are prepared to take the hit then they may get near it.

With the instant on I think its more a case of a web connected device thats not in use still monitoring whats going on in your living room - might not be a problem if kinect can be switched off like currently.
Understand new architecture rules out backwards compatibility not a deal breaker but still apain if it means buying new versions of the same game.
Dont know about Sony policy on second hand market but cant understand who wants this - is the second hand market that much of a killer for the developers.
I bought Arkham City on pre order having borrowed and liked my friends copy of Asylum, same again with Bioshock 2 and Infinite. If I've got to pay twice for something probably won't bother

If this is true then XBox One will be £399 and arrives 30/11/13. That price seems a bargain to me with Kinect included.

I like the way it looks.
Quite a few people saying it reminds them of a VCR but then I think that is the idea. It was always going to be a fairly plain, non-descript box so that it doesn't look out of place in the living room.
MS are subtly appealing to the non-gamer market . Lots of use of the word 'simple' when describing its features and interface last night.
