ABE, a few Questions for you.

Why HAVE you created a new temporary Topic for the FIFA World Cup?

How many folk asked for it?

How many requests for other specific Topics have been made and what are the reasons for rejecting them?

The Sports section was drowned by footie banta, so the non footie sport people can have their peace now (for a while). There are apparently subsections being discussed by the hierachy of AB.

So wait and see developments.

I am NOT AB Ed by the way. A distant relative perhaps.

At the top of ABE's Blog it says

"Check here for updates on the latest happenings in the AnswerBank, including changes to the site and links to current questions and debates."

There's no mention of the new Topic.

my guess would be that the temporariness is important. That means the whole thing can quietly vanish away in the manner of CB, perhaps 3 or 4 days after England are knocked out. That way it won't clutter the archives and it will meanwhile give non-footballers a short break to discuss other sports. Still, it would be nice to see a little blogette on the subject.

I am a Corby-Scot and sick of seeing the few England flags in Corby as it is. I have said previously, it annoys me when ABE can introduce a new Topic for a temporary reason and yet all other requests for a new Topic are rejected.

It is neither but ABE is the "public" face of those who run the site. I just wish we seen a wee bit more of ABE.

Isnt Corby full of Scots? Something to do with the old steelworks.

Grim-Reaper - bizarre you would assume that Scottish or indeed.Irish,Welsh or any other nationality for that matter would have no interest in the World Cup - but in particular Scottish as you highlighted.Its a multi national tournament.encompassing the Globe - just an observation to your statement.

Y'aright Dris? I've been out the back trying to get a tan but it's cloudy getting.

I'm in the middle of downloading a fitness DVD for a pal and have been since this morning on a Bit Torrent site. It's the first time I've done this but the time it's taking I reckon I could've held auditions, filmed it, edited it and got it to the shops quicker......
