laptop will not load

my laptop windows vista will not load info says failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt - status oxc000221 file \windows\ system32\drivers\acpi.sys.i have a recovery disc,driver cd disc, and a application & support disc but the pc does nothing when these are inserted it seems to be in a loop when i follow instuctions like selecting f8 and using tab menu i told man in shop the above he said bring it in it will be �25 to look at it but in all probabilities he said he could rebuild it for �90. any help please money is short at the moment , thanks in advance

you haven't said which laptop ... but open the bios and look for boot order

you need the order to be CD, usb, hdd
(or at least hdd AFTER cd)

insert the recovery CD ... and it should do the rest
