screen going blank?

sometimes i use 'microsoft flightsim 2004',and recently i have had the problem of the screen going blank with the message 'no video input'.can still hear the plane,just cant see it and the only way to get back to normal is by switching computer off,the screen resolutions are set correctly and it doesn't happen every time,any ideas? thank you.

It could be problem with some error with your display driver.
You can update your display driver.

thanks.already decided to either upgrade computer,new hard drive,higher ram and new display card or throw the bloody thing out the window!
