The Sims 2 - Castaway. PC/DS

Hi,
I was told that in order to play this game (The Sims 2 Castaway), you had to have The Sims 2 installed on your computer.
Is it the same with Nintendo DS Lite, or is it fine to play alone?

It should be fine to play alone on the DS as you don't install games on the DS you just slot in the game and play!

The DS doesn't keep a record of played games and therefore the DS version of The Sims 2 Castaway will work as a standalone game

Sims 2 Castaway is a standalone game even on the PC.
