Last week while I was at a friends,a chap called at her house,in conversation it came out that he was given up for adoption as a baby. When I got home I looked him up on Ancestry (he has a very unusual surname).I found that his mother was 20 and unmarried
when she had him,she married 4 years later and had 2 children, then married again a few years after that. So,this chap has half siblings that he knows nothing about and I have all this information about a chap I hardly know.

bet you could find his half-siblings on facebook you know, that's how easy it can be done. But don't do anything without asking him first.
I found relativeson facebook and by googling an address that I had memorised for over 50 years.

Clever tool this t'internet.

Thanks dotty and droopdrawers,It's a very delicate subject isn't it?It was the way he said "I wasn't wanted and was given up for adoption"I really felt for him, I'm sure his mother must have had good reason.I don't know him well enough to approach the matter really, you never know how people will react. He sounds as though he had a happy upbringing with his adoptive parents, but they must be dead as he is 72.
