crematorium records

I was adopted, and although it was in the family-I wasn't allowed to talk/ask about my dead parents. I have just discoved no one on real Dads side of family went to my Mums funeral, and they don't even know if it was even in Birmingham-where she died. Can anyone tell me if there is any way (online?) of finding out, other than phoning every crem in Birmingham-she's not with my Dad-only place tried so far-and no one to ask

They are usually very helpful. I rang one in Birmingham to see if my OH Gparents were there and they told me they were, and exactly where their ashes were scattered. Another time an older relative told me my GF was buried at a certain cemetery in Harrogate, but as I couldnt find them in the directory I rang a nearby one called Stonefall and asked if they could give me the number. After explaining why, she said she would just check their records before I rang off and came back to say that they were at her cemetery and the exact plot no. and even marked it with a blue post for us to see on the day we visited and we found we had been practically driving past it for years as its close to the gates where we pass regularly to the Lake District, so now everytime we pass, we do a little wave. :>) Hope you have some luck

I will be phoning on Monday, as no reply from emails -but as I said, its possibly not Birmingham- but I'm sure my late aunt told me Birmingham, when I was about 13.but it could be a false memory

I can look to see where her death was registered if that will help narrow down where she was possibly cremated.
