However , my mum was born in 1921 and I cannot find out much about my grandmother.
She had a sibling John Willaim Harlow born 5th Feb 1925 and died 9th Feb 1994
Could someone please point me in a direction to find out more. Ancestry was supposed to bbe free but credit/debit card details were required for the free trial.

I'll try to cross check with the census.

It is the one with Frances as the wife, the one with ther mother elizabeth is Rose Edith and the one we need Rose Ellen, the baptism at Southwark, they lived at No 20 but the name of the road is really hard to read like I said, and I can't find them on the 1901 either and so i will try name varaiations tonight
Found her on the 1901 at last, that took nearly an hour! Anyway, they were living in Bow, I've already found the marriage of William and Francis, her maiden name was Jones, there is a George Jones, father-in-law living with the family. The eldest child is Frances M, year older than 6 year old Rose, the reason they were so hard to find is that they are transcribed as Garrad,
There is a link to Frances Margaret's baptism at the sdame church as Rose's baptism and i can read the address better (same one,) it is 10, Selsey Street. William's job is Engineers labourer
OO))) how lucky are you, there is a photo image of their marriage on ancestry, sept 11th 1891 Bow All Hallows, William's father was William, a brewer and Francis father George William Jones an engineers labourer, looks like william and his father in law worked together I guess
Looking at that has led me to someone oin ancestry who has them in their tree actually, hang on I'll have a shufty and see where they fit in

Dotty and Craft, thank you both very very much for your endeavours. They are very much appreciated and my apologies for the delay in replying to you.
I remember my mum telling me her dad worked on a 'traction engine' and used to come home covered in smoke, dust and dirt.
Once again, many thanks to you both xx
