looking for my adopted brother

I am looking for my adopted wee brother as his birth name was George Bell and he was born on the 6th of January 1977 in robroyston hospital, glasgow. He was given up for adoption straight from birth but sadly i dont know as of yet what adoption agency it all went through. His birth mothers name is Susan bell and fathers name was unknown on birth certificate. I know my brothers name would have been changed once he was adopted to which this is why its harder to find him. If you are reading this george i am you older sister and i would love to get in touch with you just to see how life has treated you. As i hope you had a great up bringing with your adopted parents.

if george IS reading this, he's not going to be called george and surname wont be bell, so how would he know?

Yes it is a interesting first post ha, and sandy i have been in touch with salvation army and I'm waiting to hear back from them. And with regards to the last comment i believe that george new his birth name hence why i said. Thanks for the replies.

If you have no luck, how about getting in touch with the ITV programme Long Lost Family. They seem to work miracles even after fifty years. Of course, we don't know how many stories don't have a happy and successful outcome.

date of birth will not have changed, bednobs!

it probably went through the local social services, but usually HE needs to want to contact YOU, for the info to be devulged to him and to be offered counselling!

NORCAP will keep a letter welcoming contact though!
