A Happy new Year to you all
As it is very quiet on here I thought I would try this search on here again.
Many of you may remember this request some time ago and you were a great help to me for which I was very grateful. I am hoping there may be some new members on here now that may be able to help, together with your good selves. Here goes.
I am still researching the life of James (Jem) Carney born 5 Nov 1856 Birmingham died 8 Sep 1941. He was a Bare Knuckle Fighter British champion. Parents Michael Carney & Mary Roach.
I have records of all his fights, court appearances life as a bodguard to
the earl of Abingdon and Prince Edward V11.
He lived for a while at the home of George Chaloner, horse racing stables
Newmarket 1901. In 1905 during a court case he was living at Castletiau
Gardens. Barnes. What I am hoping to find is details of his private life, did he ever marry and are there any relations who are searching for him.
Since my last reply I have received information that he died in Westminster Hospital in Isleworth. He was buried at Twickenham cemetery in an un- purchased grave along with three unrelated people. This means he was unable to be buried with members of his family. At the time of his demise he was living at 22 Claremont Road Twickenham. I am unable to find No 22 on the electoral Rolls.
Thanks in advance. Harry
