where they have done massive research on surnames in the UK and couldn't find this name - which means there are less than 100 on the electoral rolls. The nearest names they had were Hardie - Celtic/Scottish centred around Galashiels & Hardiker which is centred around Preston/Oldham. They are planning to publish the names that occur less than 100 times eventually so fingers crossed.
