I have contacted National Archives at Kew, regarding buying Naturalisation papers for my Russian ancestors. Could you tell me what these Nationality/Naturalisation papers would consist of? I don't mind buying them if they will be of interest ... there are loads of pages and in fact in one relative's case the papers were revoked in 1927 so there are even more pages on this one. What does being revoked mean? I am wondering if the papers will be in English and of any interest to me onceI have bought them. Thanks everyone, especially Dottie :)

No kidding here, your interesting ancestor would make a brilliant subject for a biography!!! it would be mysterious and topical!!!

Try these:

You could post on there asking for advice on the records in Russia, I have used these sites successfully.

Hi Dottie, have you found out something about 'this particular ancestor' that I don't know about ? I think we both know who we are talking about !!
Being very nosey would it be someone with a keen interest in history might know.

I find the whole family history subject amazing, found an early policeman, but nothing juicy.
