I am trying to track my paternal grandmother who was born in Dublin in c.1889. I think I have found her birth records (need to confirm that) and then she disappears until she marries my granddad in 1910 in Newbridge and they move to England as he was in the army. She was given to her grandparents to be raise in Dublin and when she was a teenager she lived and worked for her uncle in his pub in newbridge. I have searched the 1901 National Archives for Ireland Census for her and although I can find several Bridget Murphy's there is only one that fits in the 1901 Census at a boarding school in Grattan Crescent, Kilmainham, Dublin. How would I go about finding what the school was called and if there is a register somewhere to verify if this is indeed her. Hope somebody can help me. Thank you pjp1951

What is it about the one in the Boarding School that fits? I can only find a wall of the infamous Kilmainham Gaol bordering Grattan Crescent, what was the name of the school?

The age fits she was born in 1889 and the area is right. There are no Bridget Murphy's staying with grandparents other than a 14yr old with grandparents having the name of Guilfoyle which has no connection with my family. Therefore I had to think where she could be and then I found the one I mentioned in the boarding school. That's all I have. If it is not her then I can't find her. If I could get the school information I may be able to piece it together. Thank you for your time. Regards
But the Guilfoyle name could be a step grandad's name and actually be worth persuing, if it was truly a boarding school you have to think whether the family could likely afford that
