i would like to try a proper cooked lobster/crab cooked by a professional,if i dine out are trhey very expensive.

Quite expensive, especially lobster.
I think ... no matter how skilled the chef, it's hard to improve crab or lobster.
In its basic form, boiled, chilled, eaten with some cold white wine ... they are both delicious. Personally, I think that crab has better flavour, but lobster has better texture.
Once you start trying to ponce it up, you lose some of the natural tastiness.

oh, a good thermidor, Jayne.....though my ideal is a 2lb-3lb lobbie thrown out of the boat and into the cooking pot, no drawn butter or anything like that is necessary, and so fresh you don't even need those crackers to bust into the forearms! Delish. And yes to a crisp Sauvignon Blanc that is lovely and cold, or even a Moselle.

I have a Loch Fyne restaurant near me. I don't know, the last time I went it seemed more like the chain it is, whereas unless memory fails me, previously it seemed quite a good restaurant. Not sure if there was a change of policy or something. Wasn't there for crab or lobster though, but was disappointed at the selection of fresh fish, especially wild caught ones.
