blatant promotion of other sites !!

Now youre back on form i hope we can return to the good old days where any links to other sites advertising them were removed.Lately the site has been on certain days swamped by talk of facebook,yoville and other social networking sites like myspace and bebo.I only hope you will continue your good work and stop users cluttering the site with nonsense about fruitmachines and imaginery tvs bought for imaginery houses in an imaginery town.As im sure you can imagine its all rather boring to those of us not there.And i just hope that folk who enjoy these places will continue to use them , but consider users here who dont and arent interested in loads of posts about something not relevant to ab and not allowed to be promoted under the site rules.

Sorry lakitu trying to draw users away from this site thus lowering the hit rate of adverts whilst advertising facebook etc for free is not good busines.If you were an older user youd know when they started fakechatterbank that even posting a link to the site and nnot even mentioning it got the thread , yesthe thread removed and some users were also banned for telling folk about it and inviting others to join.Bob you are a longterm user unlike lakitu can you confirm this or am i mistaken ?

If the AB wre strict with this rule they wouldn't have a category blatantly encouraging the promotion of products. It would ban all links to other sites that lead the question asker to what they need and they would not have the facility to upload YouTube links in your question - something you do frequently, which makes you a hypocrite.

Your bug bear is the fact that some people talk about Facebook, which you have shown no interest in joining, that's not our fault. You sometime (!) talk about things I'm not interested in, I just don't answer them, I do not run off to the ABED about it.

So now you're going to mention the thread that suggested another Q&A site, hardly worth hopping up and down about since it apears to be inactive anyway - the Ed will be assured we are not all about to ditch this site in the meantime....
