Hi. When I open any webpage the name appears in the Tab Toolbar. Usually when I click on the + on the right of the site name a new tab opens, ie Google, or other recently viewed sites.
Now, when I click on the + I get a second tab opening with the word 'Untitled'. Hope I have explained this correctly.
Any ideas on what might have caused this to happen? Many thanks.
In Firefox 4, the + button is meant to open a new (empty) tab. (Mine actually says 'New Tab', rather than 'Untitled'). So I can't see that anything is wrong.
To access a recently closed tab, go to History > Recently Closed Tabs and select the relevant choice
To go back several pages within the current tab, right-click on the 'Back' button and select the site you require.
Thanks for your reply Chris. I understand what you say. So the purpose of the + button is merely to open a new empty tab on screen; to enable a new site to be typed into the browser - is that correct?
this might have happened if you recently upgraded to Firefox 3 (if that's the number) - it used to look slightly different, though I can no longer remember how.
Thanks jno - I am still using Firefx 3.6 although occasionally get a pop-up to upgrade to Version 4. On this subject, do I have to uninstall Version 3 before updating? Many thanks.
