I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

jno and robi for shame....my shanghai days are long gone.
Neti the spare room is empty ready for my nice painting man to come and paint. Much of the stuff that is going back in that room(books pictures lamp mattress topper etcet) is in Sis's room pro tem. I needed the garage empty to get the bed delivered into and to have room to do my painting and finishing.
It will be nice to be able to have two guests at once, maybe both my sisters.
Hi Everybiddy What a long day. Firstly what lovely photos Jno. I would love to go up if I wasn't so scred of heights. Not so bad with lifts now though am I!!
Nice furniture Woofy. I want a new headboard for my bed. The one I have is one of those old fashioned metal ones and I hate it. A big mistake about 2 years ago.
Hope Hija gets sorted Neti.
Hi Dolly. Good to see you even if it was a quick nip in and out.
I was up at 5.30 this morning and I caught the 7.45 bus to the hospital. After my wrist class I got the bus back into Derby which broke down and we all had to transfer to another one then i caught another bus out to where I was meeting my friends for lunch. A good 2 hours later I bussed back to Derby and then home. Next my car man brought my car back so I ended taking him home then to Steady's as it is his birthday today. He wasn't in so I posted his cards and then had to go back to my car man's house cos he'd left his jump leads in my car. Eventually I got home for my tea and was able to settle to listening to the Rams win 2 - 0. Now I'm cream-crackered - going to turn the light off and going to sleep.

Oh yes and finally I hope this works - this is my latest M & S purchase

Thanks Lottie for telling me how to do it.

Nice coat jude, did you go for black?
I just lost it with an idiot in CB who says that my dogs are afraid of fireworks because I am and we shouldn't mollycoddle our pets. its a good job this is all virtual or there would be a few less AB members......
its 11.10 so we can go to bed soon,

Nice coat Jude .
Oh take no notice Woofy .I'll go and smack 'em round the lugholes with me feather duster .
I've had this argument on here before about fireworks Shaney was terrified of them and nothing I could do would calm him down apart from turning the tele up and letting a big hairy mutt sit on my lap :).We had a neighbour ( long gone now thank goodness) who let off a firework if someone farted.
They're alright for one night and organised but the continual racket from them is a pain in the backside .We get them here every weekend in the summer on the cliff top .The residents who live opposite the cliff top complain all the time .I don't blame them .It's loud for us so it must be deafening for them .
Hope you get a quiet night tonight .
Not as bad as it has been, Shaney, it was noisy from about 7.30 to 10.00.
But I am soooo ashamed.......I got reported! Will anyone on here ever speak to me again? How shall I hold my head up? etcet etcet oh woe is me.....well that's got that over with...
Honestly what a silly child, she's the one who went away for the weekend and left a candle burning in her flat.

Anyway oight oight all.
Hope hija's finger is okay.
good morning all, another bright new day, wouldn't it be nice to go up the Shard in weather like this... pleased to see Obama won as I didn't trust Romney at all but actually, having followed US elections closely since the time of LBJ, I decided for the first time in 50 years I didn't care and wasn't going to wait up for the results and that if the Americans wanted Mitt they could have him.

Is this the beginning of spiritual liberation or am I on the way to being an old biddy who can't remember my own name?
Morning all...bright 'n breezy (I mean the weather) but chillier than they're saying it is.

I love your exhibit Jude, I'd like the green one. At least you didn't suffer the shame of being on a bus that was being towed like me & a friend...sorry, should that be a friend and I?.... did one night. :)

Oh don't worry woofy, if I let 'em have it everytime I was annoyed I'd be refused entry on here.

jno I see you've joined my club....

oh poo, it got filtered out

Robi, I am a charter member of that club. Well my posts from last night are still there, so it seems that the Eds are animal lovers.
I have just stocked up on cotton traders sweat shirts for the winter. Purple, teal and chocolate.
Was going to town today to pick up the computer but CBA so I will go on sunday.
Morning/afternoon.

Hija went to A&E and had acid anesthetic injected into several place and laughing gas where they pulled the finger, but said she will probably need an op to stop it getting deformed, she said it was agony!! It is in a splint and she goes back to work at 15.30!!!

Sister (widow) has hurt her back, and is also in agony, and the priest is going round in a hour, she needs all that!! I should be there!

Very cold here today and damp
Dog next door ignore fireworks (we have them on 23rd June, St Juan and ocasionally other times) and he completelt ignores them, but hear a siren and he howls for hours, really creepy!
oooh, that wind was freezing...well that's handy, I can now go to the local shops, get my custards and then buy a mobi-scooter to bring 'em home in. :)
Hope it's not an omen but they do look very tempting when you're a non driver.

Your family are having a tough ole time neti...hope they all get their injuries sorted.

woofy I've read through that post and I'm guessing the Ed decided he'd need to remove several posts if he zapped yours. If it was a discussion about humans who were afraid of loud noises would they be saying get over it or they'd been mollycoddled in their life? I don't think so.
I have to say that the answer has always seemed simple to me...take the noise out of the fireworks. They may have been round for many years but they were never this noisy when I was small. Little uns don't like the bangs anyway.
Afternoon all. we are having a sleepy day. I shouldn't be as I have quite a bit that needs doing but heigh ho.
I will have to be alert and normal tomorrow because a man is coming to clean out my gutters.
oh no, now I've just had a call (I didn't answer) from a number that's from a company called Care-Knight, they sell mobility aids....aggghh, they're coming to get me.
Robi who do you know who hates you that much?
lol...someone must have spotted the way I've been tottering lately :)
I keep getting calls about my PPI claim, which would be nice if I had one but nobody has mis-sold me anything. However, it's nice to chat, so I do so for a while until they realise they're getting nowhere.

Lol..I get those ,and someone wanting me to do a survey and someone wanting ......well I could go on and on about all these people who phone me up .It must be my dulcet tones that does it when I say go away ! Which I do sometimes in no uncertain terms because they get on yer nerves after a while .
Bright and breezy day here ,chilly though .
I could have done with a mobi scooter today Robinia !
I was nearly laying across the checkout in Iceland .
Don't worry Woofy there are lots on here who can dish it out but can't take it I got it dished out to me recently by some sarky moo but when someone had a go at them and the shoe was on the other foot they had to make a big deal about it like a spoilt child and rally the troops :)
Sending good vibes for Neti and her family and to all of you really .
You're all the best in artefacts I've ever seen :)
Evening each. Not a bad day for me today. My plumber has been and brought he 18 month ole son who I love so w had a happy half hour and then I drove to Sainsburys for a few bits. This afternoon I've been watching Murray lose on my lap top and whileit was on I leaned my cooker so I'm quite pleased with my effort. I had the black coat Woofy but i did like the red one too but I thought the black woule be more servicable and I have 2 red ones.
I think I've tolld you befoere that my little Shep didn't like fireworks and crawled behind the telly but as he got older he became deaf so problem solved poor little thing. Im going to see if I can find that thread on CB.
I have loads of PPI phone calls I just say who you with and when they say that down goes the phone.
I hope you all have a good night and keep warm wont you It's freezing here.
See yer later 'gater(s)
