^^ Absolutely! I hate pub quizzes, in the main, for precisely this reason. I was at one about a year ago where the question was "What was the name of the plane in which Buddy Holly died?" As far as anyone can ascertain, it had no name at all other than its registration number, but half the teams put "American Pie" which was adjudged correct, because that the urban myth...

As mark says, don't forget pub quizzes can be wrong too.....
I'd have said Alfred. He was the first king to order and use a (small) fleet of ships for military purposes, which sounds like fatherhood to me.
