1. Stay home, bottle of gin, tin of Quality Streets, Jools Holland
2. Edinburgh
3. Go to my parents - where my Dad will be asleep before midnight, and the kids will be asleep upstairs
4. Go to my neighbors house, who's having a party (I've not had an invite)
I just don't know if I can be bothered will it all, so I'm swaying towards number one...
I`d go to the neighbour`s house then you can stay if it`s good and leave if it`s not and still be in front of the TV with a bottle of gin and Jools Holland.
We've not been out for the NYE for years, though we some occasionally pop round to friends for a hour we're usually back home for 21.30-22.00 settled down in the company of a couple of bottles of wine, Mr Morangie and who ever's on the TV.
Stay up watch film maybe then go out on balcony to watch the fireworks we must see nearly ever rocket that goes up in Birmingham from out lofty perch oh yes and malt whisky
The evenings around november the 5th are pretty good too we can see right across the city towards Sutton and as far as oldbury and the airport
so we see the lot... usually wrapped in dressingowns with hot dogs and hot drinks...
Talbot, yeah but I won't know anyone... apart from the neighbor. Maybe I should opt for number one and then, once the gin's kicked in, go with number 4 :P
1. For us. A DVD bought for the occasion, a bottle of madeira, a tin of sweets and the BBC at midnight. Warm, cosy and safe.
I've always assumed the Edinburgh/London option involves lots of waiting in the cold for a few "dongs" and fireworks. The parents option is not good, better to see them at Christmas or another time and as for the neighbours, what are they doing leaving you off the guest list?
