I wasn't sure where to put this,so here goes. My daughter has gone to Huddersfield University. The halls where she is living are a brand new and the post code isn't recognized by satnavs. Which has just caused a problem with Tesco delivering food. My question is,how long does it take before new post codes become recognised by satnavs?
Unfortunately it requires both the satnav operators and owners to update. There was a new road built near me last year and although I updated regularly whenever I drove on the road my satnav showed I was driving in a field. It was nearly two months before the operator updated and I was driving on the road.
Most Supermarket delivery sections have somewhere you can add extra directions, so choose the nearest landmark or main road then add directions from there.
I have to do it as most Sat Navs take deliveries to the wrong entrance resulting in a phone call from a lost driver.
Tesco delivering food to a student indeed! How times have changed since I (as a student) was scratching around with my flat-mate to find enough small change to buy a bag of chips to share!
Well a few students clubbing together to get Tesco everyday beans etc at £1 delivery slot seems quite sensible especially if they are a long way from a store.
