What Will End Religion?

`Lets face it Religion brings nothing into humanity apart from war and is only used as a power of control and money. What will actually be the final straw when these old books are merely just a joke to out future generation? They will be looking back and laughing how stupid we were to follow what is merely a fairy tale.

What scientific discoveries will stop religion or what events?

Really? Nothing? A bit of a sweeping statement.
No scientific discoveries or events are likely to "stop religion" and despite best attempts of atheists to keep on about the "fairy tales" millions of people believe in God.

Yes but technological adbvancements are growing almost exponentially these days so that isn't the case. Its a question of when and how?

I know millions of people believe in god. When I was younger I did as I was forced to go to chapel daily. A better understanding of existence will quench the power of the fairy tale completely but this will have to be proven.

I feel that religion is a personal choice & shoud be kept to ones self & having a belief is not always a set religion

I'm unsure anyone has to "face" your opinion of religion.

Spiritual matters are not the domain of science. It is unlikely to ever stop belief in this life not being all there is to existence.

Religion is probably the biggest con or scam of all time.

No proof at all of the existence of heaven or hell or purgatory yet it did not (and does not) stop many religions asking rich people for money to ease their way into heaven (or to keep them out of hell).

And the church used to sell various items that they pretended was Jesus's blood ,his teeth, his bones etc. Scam artists the lot of them.

However even when countries have tried to ban religion, like Russia did, people still for some reason want to follow one.

Personally I think it is because many humans are quite "scared" of their place on earth, and scared that once they die "that's it".

So they "pretend" there is a heaven and that when they die they will meet up with everyone again.

My wife is quite religious, and was very upset when her mum died about 6 years ago. The only thing that makes her feel better is that she may meet her mum again in heaven.

Load of tosh if you ask me, but if it makes her feel better....
