a very touchy subject i know, but this clinic which helps and has helped many women who suffer from fgm, is set to close, you would think that they need more not less.

Seems a sad thing to have occurred, but budget allocation has to be level headed to get the most out of it. Sounds the sort of thing a charity could take over, with rich benefactors keeping it going.

One has to pity the unfortunate victims of this barbaric mutilation, but our NHS is already overstretched.

More should be done to stamp out this evil practice, and those responsible should be hunted down and heavy sentences imposed on them.

I believe to date there has only been one conviction, what are authorities scared of, being condemned as racist?

A London clinic for women who have undergone female genital mutilation is being forced to close after the local council withdrew funding from March 2017.

The Acton African Well Woman Centre was awarded the Guardian sponsored Diversity and equality award in 2011 and houses experts in the field of FGM who are able to help women who have been through the trauma of the procedure.

fgm is an abominable practice, but cutting funding to such a worthy resource seems absurd.

This type of thing is not in the interest of 'diversity' it is encouraging non-integration.

it would seem obvious that those affected are from Asian, African backgrounds, if it affected Europeans chances are there would be clinics all over the place.
this clinic is a safe haven for women who have had the procedure done, and its a great shame that it's funding has been cut.

All ready the divisions between us are being used.
A perfect example of what I am trying to get over.

there are plenty of clinics for women, but some are needed because some women, in this case a lot have a special need.
fgm is not common amongst Europeans, but it is in
Asian, African communities. It must take a good deal
of bravery for these women to go to an fgm clinic in the first place.
