He joined the NSDAP very early on (Member No. 81) and he was also a member of the Stosstrupp Hitler, a forerunner of the SS. He was imprisoned with Herr Hitler after the Bier Hall Putsch, and later became a member of the Fuehrer's immediate entourage, ultimately becoming the Fuehrer's No. 2 adjutant. When Herr Wilhelm Brueckner was dismissed, Herr Schaub became the Fuehrer's Chief Personal Adjutant. He stayed with the Fuehrer to the end and his last mission for the Fuehrer was to destroy the Fuehrer's personal papers in Munich and Berchtesgarden. He then fell into American captivity in Bavaria. Herr Schaub, who had also held the SS No. 7, became an Apothecary after the war and died on December 27, 1967 in Munich. There is a picture of Herr Schaub here standing immediately to the right of Herr Hitler.
