Statement from Harry.

"Mum clearly taught me a certain set of values which I will always try an uphold despite the roll and the job that that sometimes entails, but I think I will always protect my family and now I have a family to protect so everything that she went through and everything that happened to her is incredibly raw every single day and that's not me being paranoid it's me not wanting a repeat of the past and if anyone else knew what I knew, be it a father be it a husband be it anyone then you'd be doing exactly what I'm doing as well."

Well, this is interesting. The difference in newspaper reports of Kate and Meghan. It’s quite shocking really. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ellievhall/meghan-markle-kate-middleton-double-standards-royal

If he adopts Diana's set of values, then it's best he leaves the Royal family! Obviously, as a 12 year old when she died , he still thinks she was perfect.
Question Author
His mother was a lovely, charitable lady. She may not have been perfect to Royal standards, but is anyone perfect?
She and Charles both had separate private lives. Diana, IMO was simply chosen as a suitable brood mare, for want of a better phrase.

"that's not me being paranoid"

" it's me not wanting a repeat of the past"

"if anyone else knew what I knew.. then you'd be doing exactly what I'm doing as well."
The crux of the matter still lies with his lack of respect for his 93 year old grandmother as head of ‘the firm’ he should have at least discussed it with her and his father before dropping it to the world and as for Ello John saying he discussed with him??? The jury is out on that
Didn't watch the video, but from the statement shown, if he truly believes the first bit then one wonders why he thinks aggravating the firm makes a repeat less likely.
Trouble with the RF is there are just too many of them. Breed like rabbits & live forever. Be a good thing if a lot more of them "dropped out". Hopefully future kings will downsize the whole circus.
This whole affair is best left for the Royal Family to sort out themselves.I think the vast majority in this country, even if not monarchists, have great respect for the Queen but are less so about Prince Charles but Prince William seems popular. For her part I don't think Meghan has been totally crucified in the press although she believes she has.I think she is more at home in North America and as such wants to be there,so I guess Prince Harry wants to follow as would any young husband. However having their Royal "cake and eating it" may prove a circle too difficult to square.
Well it ought to be all. Just some ain't much help, especially if they've already benefited from privilege and are now wanting to drop responsibility; and hoping to take privilege with them to boot.

One can't help feeling that duties could have been gradually reduced without excessive comment had a bombshell announcement not been unexpectedly made.

"he should have at least discussed it with her and his father before dropping it to the world"

Why? He knoews more than you. " if anyone else knew what I knew, then you'd be doing exactly what I'm doing as well." - I guess we'll just have to trust him.

"This whole affair is best left for the Royal Family to sort out themselves."

Believe me Grumpy, if i tried to sort this out for them then my letter would probably not even reach harrys eyes let alone the queens eyes.
I think it paints more of a picture of the British press.
I think he is at least one of the reasons the Queen banned all DNA tests on the Royal family.
Question Author
Well this was Harrys words in his own press release. The british media would be foolish to refuse him to make a statement and to allow him to make a statement and not publish it.
Not that one again!
> "Ello John"

... got a new motor?
The Devil @10.47 ‘His mother was a lovely charitable lady’. We’re you even out of nappies when she died?
Question Author
She was the people's princess and the people loved her.
Some people loved her although they didn’t know her.
Question Author
So? They related to her, and were happy for her to use her platform for her charitable work.

Some people with money are in it for themselves. Diana was not, she wanted to help the sick and needy, she wanted to do good with her platform.
