Teeth (Crowns)
12 Answers
No not me again but a friend has emailed me there to say she had been getting treatment on a certain tooth and the treatment (root canal) finished last week. However after treatment dentist said I will take an x-ray and after the x-ray told her that tooth will need a crown but the NHS only do metal crowns. Now I have been getting dental work all my life but I never heard of a metal crown. Friend of course has said she will pay for white crown.

"If you get an NHS crown on your back tooth, you may only be offered a silver-coloured material. You'll usually only get a white crown on the NHS for more visible front teeth. Consider private treatment if you want a white crown for aesthetic reasons".

told her last night and of course she is paying for white. If I was young all over again and had the nerve LOL - I would change silver filling to white. Looking back at my life I just know that for the fillings in my teeth I never cried to my mother about tooth pain - maybe once - but I think dentists of yesteryear - had to put unnecessary fillings in to teeth or they wouldn't have got paid. Every one of my family have fillings at the back - they are dead now but they used to say they never complained about tooth pain. Dentists were butchers then.
